Transitions
The painting is circular, a recurring geometric shape as found in my past works. It represents the cycle of life of all living organisms. How an end, here depicted as Omega, the last letter of the Greek alphabet, feeds the beginning of new life. I painted the background with wax colors and on top of them I used the encaustic shellac technique. I literally set the painting on fire creating an optical effect bringing to mind cells and tissues as seen under a microscope.
