Ehoes of the Past
The scaldaletto (Ital. Scalda-letto), was a useful household utensil. It was either bronze or iron and contained hot coal. It was used to warm the bed and absorb the dampness from the humidity before going to sleep. The encaustic painting is realistic as I combined it with an embroidered tapestry. It seems to emanate heat which magically supports an embroidered oriental design in the air.
