Between two Islands
By merging a Kefalonian ceramic soup tureen, a loom from Skye, mist-shrouded Highland peaks, and a Cephalonian diplomat, I aim to highlight the fabric of culture and identity. This piece emphasizes the shared human experience found in material culture, historical figures, and diverse, sometimes atmospheric, landscapes. The encaustic medium enhances the layers of meaning, suggesting the interconnectedness of these elements throughout history, as if seen through the mists of time.
